The D-Lib program supports the community of people with research interests in digital libraries and electronic publishing.

D-Lib Magazine is a monthly compilation of contributed stories, commentary, and briefings. Ready Reference is a convenient clearinghouse of pointers to other sites on the web of interest to researchers and users of digital libraries. The SMETE-Lib Study is an initiative of the National Science Foundation's Division of Undergraduate Education to examine the potential impact of digital libraries on science, mathematics, engineering, and technology education (SMETE), with emphasis at the undergraduate level.

Direct support for digital libraries research includes the D-Lib Metrics Working Group, which addresses the thorny problem of developing appropriate metrics, and the D-Lib Test Suite, which makes large testbeds available for serious research. Additionally, this site acts as host to other research activities.

Research in digital libraries is an expanding horizon with applications for today and implications for tomorrow. We invite you to read, observe, and participate.
